Amara has been serving birthing families since 2003 as a DONA certified birth doula. She became DONA-certified as a postpartum doula in 2008. Amara obtained certification from BirthWorks as a childbirth educator in 2012, and most recently became certified in 2021 to teach Spinning Babies® parent classes. She now offers a wide array of class options in addition to her doula services. She feels preparation and education is an important component to giving birth. Her desire is to walk with birthing families while providing nonjudgemental support for the journey to parenthood however they define it and regardless of how birth unfolds. She believes in the importance of feeling empowered, respected, being heard, and having choices as the best start to parenthood.
